The Post Office is proposing to move Narberth Post Office from its current location to create a modern main-style branch with extended opening hours.
The proposed new location for the branch is Costcutter, 19 High Street, Narberth. This is 80 metres away from its current site at 9 High Street and the Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.
In agreement with the current postmaster and as part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend the service hours for customers, the new Narberth Post Office would have three serving positions, a mixture of one modern screened, one open plan and a Post Office service point at the retail counter, which is available during shop opening hours offering selected services.
The branch itself will open from 9 am - 5.30 pm Monday to Saturday, with selected Post Office products and services available from the retail counter during shop opening hours which are 7 am - 10 pm, Monday to Saturday, and 9 am - 10 pm on Sunday. The opening hours, which will increase by an extra 56 hours and 30 minutes a week, will offer more choice of times to visit.
Will Russell, Post Office area manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”
He added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, and will secure services for the future.”
During the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal. The consultation will close on April 21. Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to [email protected], via the Customer Helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
