Prolific author Eirwyn George of Maenclochog, Clynderwen, recently launched his new book ‘History of Henry’s Moat Parish’ featuring over 60 photographs, and a wealth of interesting information.
The contents include - the old motte and bailey castle, St Brynach’s Church, the chapels, Henry’s Moat School (now closed), agriculture, local businesses, the fate of the boys who fought in the two World Wars, notable families, folklore, eisteddfodau, various talents, and much more,
Eirwyn George is a native of Henry’s Moat parish. He worked on the land for 12 years before becoming a student at Coleg Harlech and University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.
A teacher of Welsh and History at Narberth Secondary School and Ysgol y Preseli, Crymych, and later, Activities Librarian at the County Library in Haverfordwest.
He won the Crown at the National Eisteddfod twice and has published 20 volumes including poetry, history, travel books and an autobiography. He and his wife Maureen live in Maenclochog.
