A popular Pembrokeshire pub and restaurant, visited in recent times by the The Hairy Bikers for a spot of filming, has been put up for sale.

The freehold for multi-award-winning gastro pub The Stackpole Inn is being marketed by Christie and Co for £1,500,000.

Owners Gary and Becky who first took on the establishment some 17 years ago, said that they had come to the ‘huge and difficult’ decision to put the establishment on the market to sell.

“In a few weeks time we begin our 18th year at The Inn and during this long, and sometimes difficult time, we have tried to steer the business as best that we could to meet our dreams and aspirations as business holders,” they stated.

“This has all been with the help, support and friendship of our amazing staff and suppliers over the years.

“Our industry has always been one for rumours and gossip and I’ve lost count of the times that we have been told we’re selling, or buying somewhere else before now.

“We have always been of the mind that when we do decide, everyone will know, and that time has come.”

Since Gary and Becky took over, they and the team have been decorated with many awards, including - The Best Food Experience Pembrokeshire; and The Food, Drink and Hospitality Award, back in 2019.

Last year, the Stackpole Inn was the subject of an episode of BBC’s Hairy Bikers show, with duo Si King and Dave Myers (who sadly passed away earlier this year) making it their mission for the series to play matchmaker and bring together the best local restaurants with the most innovative local suppliers.

In homage to the visit of the culinary stalwarts, the Inn even produced a special ‘Hairy Bikers’ menu to mark the occasion once the show was broadcast.

“We are marketing the business through Christie and Co, and we would ask that any enquiries be made through our agents,” continued Gary and Becky.

“We will continue to grow, develop and support the business during this process, however long it may take, but most of all want to thank all of you, our supporters, who have visited us, stayed with us, eat with us, week after week, year after year, you have made us what we are today and we thank you.
