Today (Thursday) constituents from Carmathen West and South Pembrokeshire will go to the polls in what many people are saying is the most important election in decades.

The vote in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire will be counted in Haverfordwest, once the polling stations close at 10 pm.

As of December 11 there are 58,629 in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.

There will be 74 polling stations in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire constituency.

Around 350 individuals will be manning the polling stations in the constituency with a further 100 involved in the counting of votes.

The polling stations will be open from 7 am to 10 pm on Thursday, December 12.

Voters are asked to bring their Polling Card with them to the polling station, although this is not essential provided the individual is listed on the Register of Electors.

Voters will be asked to record a single vote. People in Carmathen West and South Pembrokeshire will cast their vote on a salmon coloured ballot paper.

Candidates standing in the constituency include Simon Anthony Hart who currently holds the seat for the Welsh Conservatives and will be hoping to see off the competition and keep his spot in the House of Commons.

Marc Liam Tierney of the Welsh Labour Party will be looking to capture the seat which the party held until the 2010 General Election.

Also standing are Alistair Ronald Cameron from the Welsh Liberal Democrats and Glanville Owen Rhys Thomas from Plaid Cymru.

The Brexit Party had previously said it would not put up candidates in areas where the Conservatives won seats in 2017.

There is also no candidate from the Welsh Green Party.
