Domino’s will open a new store on Tenby’s South Parade, on Monday (July 30), with an extra incentive served up to customers on opening day.
Described as the ‘nation’s favourite pizza’ Domino's state that they will be delivering a ‘tasty menu of freshly handmade to order pizza’ along with employment opportunities for the local community.
The new restaurant and takeaway to be situated at Units 1 to 3 on the South Parade, went through a controversial planning process with both town councillors and members of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s development management committee last year refusing the application, only to see the decision overturned after the applicants lodged a successful appeal to the Welsh Government planning inspectorate.
Concerns were raised about traffic management issues with the premises to be sited on a busy one-way system into the resort, and the potential for food delivery vehicles to affect traffic flow along the South Parade.
Issues regarding noise disturbance for residents living above the units and nearby were also flagged up, along with the fact that the food outlet would be situated in front of Tenby’s War Memorial.
