The Pembrokeshire village of Penally is on the search for new councillors.

Penally Community Council have advertised a notice of two Casual Vacancies for the Ward.

Persons wishing to be considered for co-option as Councillor should apply in writing, stating that they meet the eligibility criteria, with applications to be sent to the clerk and Responsible Finance officer Gary Price by 5 pm on Friday, June 30 at the following: 25 Holloway Court, Penally, SA70 7NX

To qualify to hold such office, an applicant must be a Commonwealth citizen (which includes a British subject) or Euro national and has reached 18 years of age, and:

• is registered as a local government elector for the community area named above; or

• during the whole of the last 12 months occupied, as owner or tenant, any land or other premises in the community named above; or

• he/she has during the whole of those 12 months resided in the community area and is not disqualified from holding office by reason of any disqualification set out in Section 80 of the Local Government Act 1972, or any decision made under Section 79 of the Local Government Act 2000.
