The funeral took place recently of Mrs. Ann Evans, of Penally Court Farm, Penally.

Age 83 years, she passed away on September 11 at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.

A native of Tenby, she attended St. Stephens and Greenhill Grammar School, Tenby.

Ann was a good hockey, tennis and badminton player in her younger days. She was also a member of the Pony Club and with her first pony, White Flag II and Stardust competed in the flapping races held at Cornish Down in the 1940s.

Ann operated her own riding school which also involved tuition at Netherwood School, Saundersfoot. Ann rode in many point to point races and was a very well-respected jockey.

Her main interest was Tenby Young Farmers Club, taking part in many competitions, including public speaking, needlework and of course cookery. Ann was an exceptional baker and won a Women’s Own magazine medal for her skills. She was YFC secretary for many years and supported her youngest son Paddy when he joined YFC, teaching him and many of his friends her great culinary skills for competitions. For many years, Ann spent time doing voluntary work and fundraising for the Dolphins Club.

Ann adored all animals, especially her dogs, as they would shadow her around the farm. South Pembrokeshire Hunt was another favourite pastime during her busy life where she was well-known and respected.

Ann was a keen supporter of Tenby Rugby Club, where Ann’s husband and sons all played for Tenby and Ann often washed the youth team kit to support Lloyd during his coaching years.

In her later years, Ann delighted in following her eight grandchildren and her only great-grandson on all their various activities.

Predeceased by her husband Lloyd Evans, she leaves to mourn: Carl and Janina, Chris and Karen, Mike and Julie, Paddy and Anna (sons and daughters-in-law), William, Lucy and husband Dan, Cai and wife Michelle, Charlotte, Katie, Olwen Mabli, Madoc (grandchildren), Thomas (great-grandson), Kate Phillips (sister) and Billy Phillips (brother), along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Bearers were William Evans, Cai Evans, William Lewis and Robert Luke.

The funeral service took place on Monday, September 25, at St. Nicholas and St. Teilo Church, Penally, followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

The funeral of Steve, as he was known to his friends, took place on Monday, October 30, at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

A large crowd attended the simple service, it was conducted by Mr. Mike Ashbridge in a simple and sensitive way which was what Steve would have wanted. Lots of Steve’s friends and Post Office workers, which he himself had been for 30 years, attended, along with many relatives.

Main mourners were: Father, Richard, brother Tony, sister-in-law Sian, nephews Joe and Tom. Numerous aunties, uncles and cousins attended. Three of his family travelled from Ireland to attend, his auntie Maureen, uncle John and cousin Anne, and a very sincere thank you to those lovely people.

Bearers were brother Tony, Tony’s son Tom, uncle Mike, and his best friend and workmate Bill Penson.

The death occurred peacefully on Friday, October 27 after a short illness, Louise was aged 87 years.

Louise was predeceased by her husband Bill and leaves to mourn her four children John, William, Jacqueline and Angela and their respective spouses, she will also be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The funeral service will take place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, at 3.15 pm on Tuesday, November 7.

The death occurred at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, on Sunday, October 29, of Mr. Philip Brown, he was aged 58 and lived in 2 Police Houses, Hammond Avenue, Haverfordwest, and was formerly of Penally.

Philip is survived by his wife Angela, children Alice, Jessica, Sam and Ellie, grandchildren Leo, Bella, Zoey and Chase, brothers Nick and Greg and Auntie Maud.
