The importance of a Pembrokeshire village’s ‘lifesaving’ defibrillator that has now been relocated - has been highlighted by local councillors.
At this month’s meeting of East Williamston Community Council, it was noted that a resident had enquired with County Councillor for the ward Cllr Jacob Williams about the fate of the defibrillator which had been installed inside a case mounted on the outside wall of the bus shelter, located at the entrance to Pentlepoir from Kilgetty, near Hill Rise.
“As councillors were aware, this old masonry bus stop has since been demolished by Pembrokeshire County Council and replaced with a perspex shelter,” explained Cllr Williams.
“Before this work was undertaken the defibrillator was relocated by the First Responders’ team to the outside wall of the nearby gym, accessed off Kingsmoor Road.
“It was unfortunate that this location was not visible from the road or pavement, but when funds permit, the Community Council intends to add to its current number so that no resident will ever be far from one of these lifesaving devices,” he added.
The defib can be found at the entrance to the 1 Formula Fitness gym and health spa located at Greenacres, SA68 0QW.
