Following their success in the Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire rounds of the 'Activate' Primary Schools Hockey Tournament, Narberth CP took part in the Welsh finals at Newtown, Powys. Ten teams from all over Wales made it through to the finals. In their first game, Narberth drew 1-1 with Millbrook Juniors, Newport. They lost their second match 1-0 to eventual winners, Severn Junior School, Cardiff, before winning their final group game 2-0 against Tonysguboriau Primary. Dylan Davies and Stanley Bellwood scored, which meant Narberth finished second in their group and went through to the third and fourth place play-off against Ysgol Penbryn, Gwynedd. Again, this was a closely fought match, with Penbryn scoring in the final minute, which meant Narberth finished fourth in the whole of Wales. An excellent performance and everyone at the school is very proud of their success. Thanks go to Mrs. Monaghan and Miss Thomas for training the children.
