Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire Senedd Member Samuel Kurtz welcomed new Welsh Conservatives Leader Darren Millar to the area just before the Christmas break, with the controversial ‘tourism tax’ touted by Welsh Labour Government, one of the topics on the agenda, as they visited one of the county’s most successful holiday resorts, near Narberth.

Mr Kurtz said: “First stop was with William McNamara at Bluestone which was a great opportunity to showcase one of Wales’ finest tourism offers and hear more about the business’s ethos: local produce, local staff, sustainability and high quality.

“We also discussed a few broader concerns such as the increase to National Insurance contributions and the Tourism Tax.

“Then it was on to Cegin Hedyn CIC on Carmarthen’s Lammas Street. Cegin Hedyn is a community movement that believes everyone should have access to wholesome, delicious meals.

“With their ‘pay what you can’ philosophy, they ensure everyone is welcome. Their menu highlights the rich flavors of West Wales, using fresh, organic, and seasonal ingredients, many grown just a stones throw away in their Community Allotment.

“Thanks to Martin, Deri and Phil for their hospitality,” he added.
