A new public car park is to be created at the railway sidings in Whitland.

The works, due to begin at the end of January, are expected to be completed by the end of March.

The project, which received funding through the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund, is being delivered in partnership between Carmarthenshire Council and Network Rail.

It will create an additional 25 spaces for town and rail users.

Sue Allen, County Councillor for Whitland and Henllanfallteg said: “Pleased to share this good news for the town. Parking was one of the projects identified by residents and business in the extended consultation by Owen Consultancy during 2020 and 2021.

“There will be some inconvenience but it will be completed prior to the summer season.”
