Discussions over funding further facilities for young people in Kilgetty - and the subject of eradicating anti-social behaviour around the village, continue.

In a report to the May meeting of Kilgetty and Begelly Community Council, Cllr Alistair Cameron, county councillor for the ward, said that there was a need for facilities for young people in the village, as the play area was aimed at children.

“This is particularly so for young people who are disengaged from organised activities in the village such as football,” he remarked.

“Whilst the County Council does not have the finance to pay for a youth worker, Council officers are meeting to consider what support they can give.

“As we approach Summer, we need to keep an eye on any possible anti-social behaviour. Residents are requested to report any issues of concern or anti-social behaviour to the police.

“If it is not an emergency, please ring 101 or use the Dyfed Powys Police website. This is important so that the police have an accurate record of issues in the area, and they can use their resources accordingly.”

A further meeting of an ‘Anti-Social Behaviour Problem Solving Group’ - with the Police, Community Councillors, and other local stakeholders - was held recently.
