Pembrokeshire attraction - Folly Farm houses many adorable animals across its impressive farm and zoo - from giraffes, penguins and sloths, to pigs, donkeys and everything in-between. But none are cuter than the adorable orphaned rare breed duo residing in the Jolly Barn.

Ted, an incredibly fluffy seven-week-old Torwen lamb, has bonded with three-month-old Golden Guernsey goat kid ‘Gary’ and have quickly become best buds after they sadly lost their mums shortly after birth.

Both Torwen sheep and Golden Guernsey goats are listed as an ‘at risk’ species on the Rare Breed Survival Trust’s Watchlist.

Folly Farm, located in Begelly, is the first Welsh farm park to achieve rare breeds status from the RBST for its efforts and contribution to conserving rare breeds of livestock. Its paddocks showcase rare breed farm animals from across the UK and particularly champions some of the most amazing Welsh rare breeds, such as Ted the Torwen.

When Ted and Gary became orphaned, the Jolly Farmers quickly stepped in to give this perfect pair the best chance of survival, and have been hand rearing them with regular bottle feeds ever since!

Just like caring for any youngsters, keepers have dedicated their time to providing round-the-clock care.

Farm manager Kim said: “We only hand rear animals when absolutely necessary, and it’s taken a lot of dedication to ensure both ‘Ted the Torwen’ and ‘Gary the Golden Guernsey’ have the best start, but it’s been totally worth it.

“They’ve certainly stolen our hearts and are adored by our staff and guests – especially when we’re able to take them out for our ‘meet and greet sessions’!” she added.

Gary is a cheeky character who’s always getting into mischief – whilst Ted has everyone wrapped around his little hoof!

Guests can see these besties in the Jolly Barn now.
