The Pembrokeshire Coast Path will be the star turn at the National Park Authority’s County Show marquee this year, telling the story of how this world-class National Trail was created, including the pivotal part played by a 1960s Bristol tractor.

On the corner of the Main and Band Avenues you’ll find the National Park Authority’s marquee, packed with lots of free activities for children and the opportunity to find opportunities for adventure, as well as activities that conserve and enhance the Park.

National Park chairman Mike James said: “This year the authority would like to invite people to come and find out more about the fascinating story behind the creation of the world-famous Coast Path, which is managed by the National Park Authority.

“As well as learning about the creation of the 186-mile National Trail, people will also be able to find out more about all the work carried out by the authority and its partners to conserve this world-class landscape and make it a haven for wildlife.”

The stand will also be home to special rockpool tanks containing a fantastic range of wildlife from Pembrokeshire’s coastal waters to inspire you to identify and discover them yourself on the beautiful beaches along our shores.

Each day they will be giving away two-for-one entry tickets for their popular visitor attractions, Castell Henllys Iron Age Village and Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, plus a chance to win £50 by taking part in a Wildlife Challenge treasure hunt activity around the County Show trade stands.

The National Park Authority Discovery Team will be present with a group of Youth Rangers, with an exciting interactive activity teaching about marine waste and the damage plastic can inflict on wildlife.

This year the National Park Authority will be joined by the Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum, who will be showcasing a small selection of their collaborative projects aimed at the sustainable use of the coast. The Pembrokeshire Marine Code and Outdoor Charter projects both received recognition from the European Commission in 2016, so pop along to their stand to find out more.
