Electric vehicle charging points in Kilgetty are to be discontinued due to ‘low usage’.

A car sharing pilot launched in Kilgetty back in 2023, offering a community led approach to tackling the cost-of-living crisis and the climate disaster.

As part of TrydaNi - a Wales-wide network of EV car clubs, the EV points were located to the rear of the village’s Community Centre, with the service allowing members of the car club to book and pay for their use of vehicles through an app.

However, Cllr Jerry Long reported to members of Kilgetty Begelly Community Council recently, that the current provider had informed the Council that due to low use, the service will discontinue.

“The electric points are isolated and no longer accessible,” he said.
