AMMAN UNITED 17

TENBY UNITED 12

Tenby United's season got off to a disappointing start in Division For West, with an away defeat to Amman United, but events at Cwmamman Park were overshadowed by a nasty injury for the Seasiders' winger Barry John, who suffered a fractured leg and had to be taken by air ambulance to hospital.

The home side went in at the break 8 - 5 up, with winger Scott Stephens scoring a try and fly-half Rhys Thomas grabbing a penalty, to give them an advantage over Tenby's try from number eight Sam Smith.

After the interval, Thomas added three more penalties for Amman United to extend their lead, with the United's pacy young winger Simon Stanford crossing for a late try which was converted.
