Plans on developing the area between Tenby’s Old and New Cemeteries have been positively met by local councillors.
A report from the ‘Tenby New Cemetery management sub-committee’ came before the most recent meeting of the Town Council.
The town clerk told councillors that, he had met with the cemetery maintenance contractor on site and outlined proposed works.
He had suggested a beech hedge to mirror the surrounding hedges rather than saplings or a box hedge. This would not take as long to establish either.
Cllr Sam Skyrme-Blackhall felt it had been a good meeting, stating: “One burial in 10 was now cremated remains and developing the area between the Old and New Cemeteries to accommodate this was a good way forward.
“We will be able to create a really nice area for those wishing to pay their respects,” she added.
