At the Sunday afternoon service that took place in Carringtons Restaurant, below the Atlantic Hotel on Tenby's Esplanade, the pastor talked about the recent find of a Mediæval biblical manuscript, buried in an Irish bog.

The first page is the text of Psalm 83. Rev. Peter Richmond thought it amazing that the 1000-year- old manuscript should be found now, considering how relevant that Psalm is to the Middle East crisis today.

The Latin text in the manuscript describes how Arab and Middle Eastern powers form a 'last days' covenant against the God of Israel and against the Jewish people, in order to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

Verse 7 even refers to Gebal, a town about 20 miles north of Beirut, Lebanon.

The pastor urged people to continue to pray for the peace of Israel, and that the nation would seek God's guidance rather than relying on military strength and alliances.

The service also included praise in songs and prayers, and ended with a coffee time in the bar. The Mexican fun afternoon tomorrow (Saturday) starts at 2 pm in Emmanuel Gospel Church, Manorbier. This Sunday's service is at 4.15 pm in Carringtons Restaurant, Tenby. All are welcome. Telephone 01646 681805 for any enquiries.
