Heavy rainfall has caused widespread surface water flooding on roads across Pembrokeshire this afternoon, causing disruption and leading to some roads being impassable - including routes into Saundersfoot and Tenby.
The B4316 is currently impassable in both directions between Pentlepoir and Saundersfoot at Saundersfoot train station, with Pembrokeshire County Council's highways teams currently in attendance.
There is also heavy surface water on the B4318 Gumfreston in both directions.
Reports of surface water in Pembrokeshire are as follow:
• A477 Southbound between Honeyborough roundabout and the Cleddau Bridge
• A478 in both directions between Kilgetty and New Hedges
• A4075 Dredgemans hill near Merlin’s Bridge
Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when navigating these flooded roads. Here are some essential safety tips to adhere to:
• Drive carefully: Reduce your speed and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
• Turn on your exterior lights: Enhance visibility, especially during low-light conditions or heavy rainfall.
• Plan extra time: Allow ample time for your journey to account for potential delays due to flooding.
• Increase braking distance: Be prepared to stop in a shorter distance, maintaining a safe buffer between your vehicle and the one in front.
