Heatherton World of Activities has made a heartfelt donation to a Pembrokeshire charity - in memory of one of its members of staff, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Over the last few months, through events such as its scarecrow trail and raffle, Heatherton situated on the outskirts of Tenby in St Florence have been fundraising for ‘Get The Boys A Lift (GTBAL) charity in memory of staff member Ben, who sadly passed away in March.
One lucky winner of the raffle got to take home such prizes as - a luxury yurt break at Florence Springs Glamping & Camping Village; a thrilling escape room adventure for four at Tenby's Great Escape; a 30-credit group/shared Heatherton pass; and a hamper full of amazing goodies including Barti Rum and Tenby Harbour Brewery ales.
GTBAL is a lift is a non-profit organisation, situated in Haverfordwest, who provide free and accessible mental health support to those who need it.
They provide a much-needed safe space for the community, offering a unique blend of quality coffee, award-winning counselling, impactful outreach, and sustainable clothing.
“We feel extremely privileged that we got to visit the charity last week, along with Ben’s lovely grandparents to donate a total of £1,000 to this highly deserving cause,” said a spokesperson for Heatherton.
“For a large number of us, reaching out and accessing help for the first time can often be the toughest part.
“That’s where GTBAL provides the invaluable service of running a completely free, online counselling service open to anyone over the age of 17.
“We’d like to thank GTBAL for all their continuous hard work.
“They truly are making such a difference to the lives of so many and we’re glad that our contribution will make a positive difference in the community, while also honouring our colleague, Ben.”
