A fun night competition for the juniors was held at Heatherton IBC last week to mark the end of their coaching this season.
The singles was on a handicap basis with one semi-final between Cameron White and Liam Price which went right down to the wire with both bowlers producing good woods, but it was Liam who just edged his way into the final.
The other semi saw Joe Dennis against Luke Rees and in this one, it was Luke, drawing very well, who came out on top to go into the final.
In the final, the pair produced bowls they are both capable of and it was Luke, with first class drawing woods who ran out victorious.
The triples final saw brother and sister Cameron and Ysie White with Liam Price play against Jack Wright, Luke Rees and Joe Dennis. Again all the players produced good bowls, especially on the draw, with heads continually changing, but the edge on the last end went to Cameron, Ysie and Liam.
Trophies were awarded to the winners and the coaches wish all the junior bowlers every success in their outdoor season.
All the children involved would like to take this opportunity to thank Heatherton, especially their coaches, who gave up their free time to coach, advise and support them in their competitions - thank you to Peter Gilder, Nev Ruff and Steve Dick.
Good luck to all the juniors in their club competitions and for their outdoor season.
