A fantastic £1,058 for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Glangwili Hospital has been raised by a fundraiser who took on a 100 mile challenge.

Meleri Llwyd O’Leary took on the amazing challenge to walk 100 miles in memory of her dear friend, Siân Axford, who sadly passed away due to breast cancer three years ago.

Meleri said: “Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me. Rain or shine, I loved every minute of the 100 miles.

“The care and support given by staff at the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Glangwili Hospital is truly incredible. It’s been a privilege to raise funds for such a good cause and all in memory of our special friend, Siân Axford.”

Nicola Llewellyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, said: “We’d like to say a big thank you Meleri for taking on this incredible challenge in memory of Siân.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
