A charming sketch by the famous artist Gwen John has been donated to Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

‘Cat Washing Itself’ was drawn circa 1907 and remained in Gwen’s private collection until 1982 when Margaret Body, who lived in London at the time, bought it.

She always planned to leave the important work of art to the museum in her will, but decided to make the donation sooner so that she and others could see it on display together with other sketches in the museum’s John family collection.

Margaret visited the museum recently and is seen here making her generous presentation to Neil Westerman, one of the trustees.
