DRAMA COMPETITION

The annual Drama Competition took place on Monday and was a great success. The standard was extremely high, and the work that had been put into the individual plays showed a great deal of commitment and enjoyment for the subject.

As with all competitions, winners had to be chosen, and head of drama, Miss Rees, had a difficult task in selecting the winners. After much deliberation, the following groups were chosen as the winners.

Year 7: Natasha Turton, Sarah Davies, Bethan Rowe, Rachel Mathias and Annie Brougham.

Year 8: Laura Griffiths, Adam Hughes, Phoebe Osborne, Chloe Laing and Andrew Birch.

Year 9, of which two groups were successful: 1. Freya Rowlands, Kate Williams, Jade Williams, Keira Bratcher and Claire Griffiths; 2. Hannah Morgan, Kate Lamb, Matthew Birch, Matthew McGivern and Sophie Fleming.

These winning groups are today (Friday) on the last day of their tour, having visited all the local junior schools to enact their plays. At the end of their tour, they will have visited St Teilo's, Saundersfoot, Manorbier, Pentlepoir, Jeffreyston, Sageston, Narberth, Tenby Infants, Tavernspite, Stepaside, St. Florence and Tenby Junior School. A punishing schedule that would put even the RSC to shame!

Well done to everybody who participated in the competition, and particular congratulations must go to the winners!

HEATHERTON WINNERS

You will remember from last week's Newyddion Greenhill News, Tom Edwards and Charles Goldwait, of Year 8, who won the library's competition to devise next year's reading challenge. They won a day ticket each to Heatherton Sports Park. Here is their account of their day out.

"On Saturday, June 23, we used the tickets we won to go to Heatherton and had a really good day out. We both did everything from bowls to golfing. Whilst we were at Heatherton, we couldn't resist going on their new feature, pirate putting, which was excellent. It was well worth the day out, and we are glad that we entered the competition and won!"
