A fundraising group to aid Kilgetty Play Park has held its first meeting.
The group has started working on this year’s summer fete and evening event at the Begelly Arms to raise funds for the play park and other local good causes.
The date for the Fete is Sunday, August 25, with the 5k Fun Race also to be held on the same day but in the morning.
“Some years ago, there was a Talent competition held so we are going to try to do this again and get some local acts to enter, this will be held on the day and be 2 or 3 age groups - if we get any entries!,” Cllr Jerry Long told fellow members of Kilgetty and Begelly Community Council at their recent meeting.
“Kilgetty Football Club are also celebrating 100 years since they were formed this year, and wish to do something on the event and have also offered to help on the day.”
County councillor for the ward Cllr Alistair Cameron had told members that the application for a grant for play equipment from Pembrokeshire County Council’s Enhancing Pembrokeshire Scheme of £100,000 has been deferred by the Council’s Cabinet until the next deadline of July 12.
