From New York, Paris, Peckham...to Tenby, entrants trotted from far afield to be a part of the resort’s carnival parade on Wednesday.

Carnival fever burst into the town once again with the spectacular Tenby Firefighters Carnival brightening up the day, with a colourful cavalcade of characters forming the procession, with numerous floats and fancy dress competitors taking part.

The carnival always has a special place in the resort’s calendar and never fails to capture the imagination, with entrants from all walks of life joining the parade, including - Superheroes, Elvis, Peaky Blinders, Peter Rabbit and friends.

Even Del Boy and Uncle Albert squeezed some ‘friends’ into the back of their Reliant too.

Donald Trump was fed some Tenby fish and chips through a cage - there really was all sorts to see - and it really was The Greatest Show!

Festivities kicked-off at the fire station on South Parade early in the day with food and refreshments served throughout the day, along with a raffle, and plenty of fun activities for the kids.

The carnival parade, with the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, also in attendance, featured a high number of floats and fancy dress walkers, who marched through the town to the beat of the Samba Doc band, making their way from the railway station through to Tudor Square where the ‘wet zone’ showdown took place!

Then it was on down to the harbour, before the winners of the carnival classes for the different categories, and lorry-borne entrants were chosen by judges - the Williams family from Pontypridd, and the Dowie family from Surrey.

Following the carnival, sponsors Tenby House held their annual charity night, an event where participants and firefighters themselves could relax and reflect on another great event for the town.

Once again, the main recipient of the money raised by Tenby’s dedicated band of firefighters during the course of the day will be the Firefighters Charity.
