Friends of the Earth are looking to plant more trees in Narberth.

At this month’s meeting of the Town Council, Cllr Paffard stated that the FoE would like to plant trees on the bank below the bottom car park at the top of Carding Mill Lane.

Members stated that this area is managed by Pembrokeshire County Council and not the Town Council.

Concerns were raised with this being the site of the old tip and whether trees would survive there. Cllr Paffard said he would meet with the group and report back.

Members were reminded of the need to exercise caution when planting trees and of what has happened in the past with trees being planted by groups and then not maintained.
