Members of Penally community council were given an update at their recent meeting by the ward’s county councillor Jon Preston on the proposed footpath extension on the by-pass.

“The Network Engineer at Pembrokeshire County Council who was overseeing this project is no longer in post and a replacement for the South of the county has been appointed,” stated Clr. Preston.

“I think its fair to say that there has been a lack of continuity during the changeover period.

“However, discussions have been had and the scheme Engineering Works Manager who confirmed that a works order ticked has been raised for this project, but it has yet to be programmed into the schedule of works.

“It is hoped that the job can still be carried out during the current financial year.

“A progress meeting has been arranged to discuss the programme so I will be in a better position to update council at our next meeting,” he added.
