The Quins grabbed their first win of the season with a hard fought victory over visiting Penygroes.
After a slow opening half-hour, with neither side looking to break the deadlock, the Quins, following an infringement at a ruck, took the lead when hooker Neil Brace slotted over the resulting penalty from in front of the posts.
But the visitors hit back almost immediately with a superb try by left wing Carwyn Davies. Outside-half Chris Powell hit the upright with the resulting conversion.
Right on half-time, however, the Quins scored a try from number eight Gareth Scourfield, when a penalty from Adam Cawley took a wicked bounce to give the hosts a lineout five yards from the visitors line from which the Scourfield was driven over to send the Quins in 8-5 to the good at the break.
The second half again started slowly, but the Quins soon started to get the ascendancy, and after some excellent running from Paul Jonkers and Adam Cawley, they found themselves deep in the visitors' half, which produced a try for Brace, who, as he did the previous week, converted his own score from the touchline.
The hooker then followed that up with a 40-yard penalty to give the Quins what looked to be a winning 18-5 lead.
The visitors, though, had other ideas and scored another outstanding try through centre Adam Price, but some determined tackling late on denied Penygroes a bonus point, which many thought they deserved, especially after matching the Quins in the try stakes.
