Pembrokeshire National Park Committee gave the go-ahead for the preparation of large-scale development plans for holiday accommodation at Freshwater East. The development was designed to cater for a population of at least 6,000.

At Kilgetty Christmas Fatstock Mart, Mr. E. H. Hughes, of Redberth Court, won five trophies and took the championship award with a beast that was bought by Mr. T. Tweed for £9 10s per cwt.

Rugby: Newport Saracens 21 pts Tenby United nil. Tenby United made an early start to play one of the finest second class teams in Wales before going on to the Wales-Wallabies international in Cardiff. Their opponents were Newport Saracens who played an excellent brand of football and were noted exponents of the open game. They caught the United, who were going through a bad patch, on one of their poor days and trounced them 21 points to nil.
