Relaunching on Saturday is the popular Bubbleton Farm Shop and Farm Kitchen.

Situated just two miles from Tenby, just past Penally on the Manorbier Road, it’s a real family friendly venture.

There is a long family tradition of growing Pembrokeshire new potatoes, tomatoes and other vegetables at Bubbleton, and Tipper Evans and his family are now the fifth generation passionate about keeping this tradition going.

“We are also passionate about producing quality local produce for local people,” says Tipper, “as well as promoting our love of outdoor living and educating the next generation to connect them with their food.”

The shop has been refurbished and landscaped to make a uniquely relaxing shopping experience.

You can buy Bubbleton’s new potatoes, along with a broad selection of vegetables, fruit and fresh eggs from the farm - all sold within 24 hours of being laid - if they’ve run out, you will have to go back in the morning!

In addition, there’s Welsh cheeses, yogurts, butter, ice-cream etc, as well Bubbleton’s own beef and lamb and pork from Tipper’s uncle at Nash Farm, while there’s a selection of top quality local artisan products, including honey from the on-farm apiary, preserves, beer from Tenby Brewing Co and Harbwr Brewery, who use the hops grown at Bubbleton, wine and biscuits.

You can also visit the tearoom with its own sun lounge and enjoy Pembrokeshire roasted coffee or a pot of tea and one of a selection of homecooked treats, whilst seeing the produce being grown and reared in the fields.

The tearoom is run by Ayesha Khan-Rees and a menu has been prepared to suit all times of the day, from breakfasts to tastily filled sandwiches and wraps and salami platters, using the Berkshire pork reared on the farm, at lunchtime.

What’s also unique is the hops which, although traditionally grown in the UK since the 16th century, have not been grown in Wales commercially since 1874. Bubbleton Farm is now growing hops to support the emerging Welsh micro-brewing industry.

Walk in or hide out between two-metre tall hops in the hop garden, and smell the aroma of the hops being grown!

Children can also feed the hens and pigs in a safe environment and there’s hay bales and outside seating to enjoy the summer sun.

Bubbleton Farm Shop and Farm Kitchen is open Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm and at weekends until 4 pm.
