It has been a busy 2015 for the staff at FBM and it’s had nothing to do with properties.

At the start of the year the staff and management of FBM decided to put all their efforts into fundraising for local causes.

The year kicked off with a charity golf day organised by Haverfordwest boys James Skudder and Martyn Tweedie. The day raised over £700 which was donated to local youngster Shannon Folena. Following a traffic accident Shannon now needs full-time care and James and Martyn both decided that she was a most deserving recipient of the funds raised.

A charity quiz night arranged by the Narberth office raised over £200, with all the raffle prizes donated by local Narberth businesses.

FBM’s Pembroke office gave The Great British Bake-Off a run for their money and the selling of their wares along with a charity raffle organised by the Milford Haven office raised over £1,500.

Henry Durrant from the Pembroke office used up a week’s holiday with his ‘Run for Ray’ when he ran the entire 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coast path over a seven-day period. Henry’s fantastic efforts raised over £7,000 for Prostate Cymru.

The ladies in the Tenby office also donned running shoes and raised several hundred pounds taking part in the Tenby Long Course Half Marathon.

The year long fundraising culminated in FBM’s second Charity Ball and Auction which was held at Trefloyne Manor, Penally. The guest speaker was Steve Fenwick, former Welsh and British Lions star, with an excellent evening had by all. Again all the auction and raffle prizes were donated by Pembrokeshire businesses and individuals.

FBM donated the fundraising money equally between The Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund and The Huntington’s Disease Association. Around 10 years ago Gareth, a life-long school friend of FBM’s director Dominic Subbiani, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, for which there is currently no cure. Gareth is only 45 and is now wheelchair bound and requires 24-hour care.

Dominic’s old brother, Gary, suffers from Huntington’s Disease, which is an inherited genetic condition that affects the brain and nervous system. Huntington’s Disease is a slowly progressive condition that interferes with the movement of your body and can affect awareness and judgement. At the present time there is no cure for Huntington’s Disease.

Dominic Subbiani said: “I am really proud of the efforts of the staff at FBM, not only with their efforts for causes that are close to my heart, but also for the efforts they put into raising money for things they feel strongly about.”

FBM have a

well earned rest!

After a year of fundraising, during which time staff at FBM raised nearly £20,000 for various causes ranging from Prostate Cymru to The Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund, the staff at FBM let their hair down with their annual Christmas Party and Awards Evening.

A fabulous night was had by all at Trefloyne Manor, Penally, with prizes being awarded in such categories as Best Newcomer to Unsung Hero. The highlight of the evening was the Office of the Year, which was won by the Fine and Country department, Newcomer of the Year, Callum Lewis from the Tenby office, and Best Sales Negotiator, which was awarded to Henry Durrant of the Pembroke office.

Dominic Subbiani, director, said: “This year it was so hard to decide the winners in each category. I had daily calls and emails from staff with their own view on who should win, but in the end I think each winner was well deserved.

“We look forward to going into the New Year with staff who come to work each morning and give their all to both our customers, their colleagues and our company.”
