Some wonderful Welsh gardens are opening for the National Garden Scheme in 2025, featuring some of Pembrokeshire’s timeless classics, including a Monty Don favourite!
From rolling hills and valleys to coastal retreats and city secrets National Garden Scheme gardens across Wales offer a diverse and magical portfolio of gardens to explore. With almost 300 gardens opening in 2025 - there are plenty to enjoy - and all for charity.
For a timeless classic designed by a plantswoman of note – and featured on Monty Don’s British Gardens – visit Dyffryn Fernant in Fishguard when it opens for the National Garden Scheme on June 8 and September 7, between 12 and 5pm.
Described as a magical 2.4 ha garden, evolving from wilderness and ancient rocky landscape. Distinctively planted areas leading down to marsh and woodland, against backdrop of the Preselis.
Planting includes: tulips, primulas, Camassias, Wisteria alba, orchard fruit blossom, roses. Peonies and Embothrium coccineum, salvias, dahlias, Hedychium, Canna, Colocasia, Ricinus, and ornamental grasses.
Norchard located on The Ridgeway, Manorbier has opened for the National Garden Scheme since 2012.
These beautiful gardens around a Medieval Hall combine strong structure and informal areas with walled gardens and a restored Elizabethan parterre.

The gardens are nestled in tranquil location and sheltered by an ancient oak woodland. Strong structure with formal and informal areas, featuring early walled gardens, restored Elizabethan parterre, ornamental kitchen garden, subtropical planting and orangery.
You can visit on July 6 between 1 and 5pm.
Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors, the scheme has donated more than £74 million to beneficiary charities, and in 2024 made donations of over £3.5 million.
Beneficiaries include - Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, Parkinson’ UK, Carers Trust and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
