A floral feast for the eyes is about to be served up at the Priory Church in Monkton, Pembroke, by the South Pembs Floral Art Society.  

On August 11 to 17 the society will stage a festival of flowers based on the theme of The Musicals, a fitting subject for a church with the reputation of having some of the best acoustics in the county.

Light refreshments will be available at the church, which will be open from 10am to 6pm daily for visitors to view the arrangements. Each one of them will represent one of the famous musicals from theatre or screen. 

The Priory and Parish Church of St Nicholas and St John is a Medieval, Grade I listed church, sitting on a hilltop opposite Pembroke Castle. One of the remains of a Benedictine Priory founded c.1098 and dissolved in 1539, it was restored in the late 1800s by Parish Vicar Rev’d David Bowen.
