Thanks to the generosity of owner Matthew Ronowitz, the Tenby RNLI Fundraising Committee Christmas Coffee Morning took place in the convivial surroundings of The Qube, Tudor Square.
Friends, old and new were greeted with a warm welcome and delicious coffee and mince pies, all donated by the Qube, and served with friendly efficiency by Gill and the staff.
“Members of the Tenby Fundraising Committee are so very grateful to them all for their continued support and commitment to the Tenby Lifeboats and crews,” said chairman Nicole Evans. “A magnificent £685 was raised which is definitely a record.”
Nicole added: “The raffle, this year was even more splendid and our thanks go to to Linzi Sellers for putting together the sumptuous hamper. Extra prizes this year included generous vouchers for The Qube, The Cove and Ronni’z.
“We were delighted to welcome our friends from the Saundersfoot RNLI Committee and wish them well with their new shop in the village. They also managed to go home with half a dozen raffle prizes which means they may be banned next year!
“It was good ,too, to welcome Alice our RNLI Community Manager, as well as Coxswain Phil John, his brother Rob and daughter Imogen supporting proud Mum and Nan, president, Shan Thomas. Engineer Will and Visits Officer, Mags completed the representatives from the Boat House and we were delighted to welcome them all.”
Doreen Mortimer and her helpers brought the ever popular RNLI Christmas cards and gifts stall and raised almost £130 which was an extra bonus.
President Shan and chairman Nicole expressed thanks to everyone who came along and particularly to Gill and the staff for their hard work, adding that “especial thanks must go to Matthew for, once again, supporting Tenby RNLI. It is wonderful to have such support from a local businessman.”
Many members of the committee stayed on at The Qube to enjoy a relaxing lunch and to reflect on what had been a profitable and enjoyable morning.
“It was certainly a great way to begin the Christmas festivities and the committee members would like to wish all their supporters a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Healthy New Year.”
