Fims4Tenby will soon be showing the nostalgic drama Empire of Light (2022, 113 mins, cert 15) in Tenby.

From acclaimed director Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road, 1917), the film stars Olivia Colman (Broadchurch, The Crown, The Favourite) as Hilary, the manager of a cinema in Margate in 1980, who is struggling with her mental health when she forms a relationship with Stephen (Micheal Ward), a man who has been subjected to several racist attacks.

The film co-stars Colin Firth and Toby Jones. Colman was nominated for a Golden Globe, Ward for a BAFTA and the film also received an Oscar nomination for best cinematography.

The showing takes place on July 18 at the De Valence with the doors opening at 6.30 and the film starting at 7pm.
