Pictured on Caldey Island near Tenby is Brother David who has recently published his ninth collection of poetry, ‘Shelter from the Storm’.
The poetry of David Hodges reflects the monastic life of prayer in an island setting. Seascapes, Caldey flora and fauna, the flight of birds, liturgy, memoir and contemporary issues all provide material for the poet’s pen.
Rowan Williams once said: “his poems consistently steer us from the bracing weather of this coastal territory towards that other interior territory of the wind and sun of grace.“
The book is available to buy on the island, and also via caldeyislandwales.com .
