Guy Fawkes Night
Traditionally, November 5 is Guy Fawkes Night as this is a commemoration of the day in 1605 when Guy Fawkes was arrested for being part of the Gunpowder Plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament. A bonfire was held and a scarecrow was burned – called a Guy after Guy Fawkes. Later , people started having firework displays as well, and hot dogs as well as potatoes roasted in the bonfire. You can do a firework picture by colouring all over some sheets of paper with brightly coloured crayons. Paint over the top with black paint, or colour with black crayon, then use a coin, lolly stick or your fingernails to scratch fireworks in to it.

Make a leaf tile
Have you used salt dough before? You need twice as much salt as flour. Mix them together with a drop of vegetable oil and a splash of water until you have a dough. Roll it out. Find some autumn leaves with good shapes and press them into the salt dough, vein side down, quite firmly to leave a good impression. Peel the leaf of carefully, and trim around it. Make as many as you like, then bake in an oven at 100 degrees centigrade for about 2 hours – you can turn the oven off before the end, and the heat will be enough o finish baking the tiles. When they have cooled, you can paint them and decorate them however you would like.
