A LOCAL woman hopes to become Wales' biggest loser... in a radio weight loss challenge!
Emma Thomas from Penally is taking part in Real Radio's current slimming contest.
Explained Emma: "Two presenters, Angela from The Breakfast Show, and Dave from DriveTime, both decided they wanted to lose weight after Christmas and have challenged each other.
"They have picked some members of the public to join their teams and the winners will be the team with the greatest collective weight loss at the end of February. They are calling this competition Wales' Biggest Loser."
Emma was one person who applied and was picked by Angela to join her 'Team Breakfast' and took part in their first 'starting' weigh-in last week.
"Over the next five weeks, I shall be travelling up to Cardiff every Thursday to weigh-in with the rest of the team and am confident I can achieve my own goal of losing a stone by the end of the competition," continued Emma.
"I am getting married in September and want to be a size 12 for my wedding dress fittings this summer.
"I have lost six stone so far over the last two years and feel this will really help me with the last leg of my weight loss journey. "
Emma says she will continue on her Herbalife Weightloss Programme with two healthy meal replacement shakes, protein snacks, Thermo beverage, plenty of fruit and water and a colourful healthy meal in the evening, all based around her new active lifestyle.
During the last two years, Emma's interest in weight management and healthy nutrition has led her to start her own business as a Herbalife independent distributor and she spends a lot of her time now helping others with their weight goals and nutritional habits.
Added Emma: "I am also very lucky to have the help and support of my future husband, John Paul, who is also in the business as a personal weight management coach.
"I recently shared my news with my son Callan's school (Tenby Infants School) and this has inspired them to organise a sponsored slim to raise money for the people of Haiti and they have asked my help, which I shall be doing willingly."
Emma would like to thank John Paul, family and friends, but a big thank you goes to Martin and Amanda from Martin James Health Club in Kilgetty for offering her the use of their gym and personal training and support over the next five weeks.
