Renowned Aberaeron quilter DeAnne Hartwell-Jones will be visiting Narberth Museum on Friday, October 19, to deliver a talk on traditional Welsh quilting techniques.
A quilter since her teens, DeAnne regularly leads workshops at Jen Jones's Welsh Quilt Centre in Lampeter and has exhibited her work widely including at the prestigious Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham.
Many of DeAnne's designs are inspired by the dramatic landscapes around her home in West Wales: the mountains, coastline, breathtaking skies and sunsets.
She uses high quality Welsh materials, including flannel from local woollen mills, and the traditional method of stitching fabric over paper before hand piecing and quilting.
Her combination of skill, technique and locally produced materials means that each of her quilts evolves into a unique and distinctive work of art. DeAnne will be bringing a selection of pieces to illustrate her talk.
The talk will begin at 7 pm and tickets cost £5 and are available by calling the museum bookshop on (01834) 860500.
