The Ysgol Greenhill community was proud to have a pupil shortlisted in the recent Pembrokeshire Spotlight Awards.
Pupil Alexis-Leigh Sanders was nominated in the ‘Voice’ category after bravely speaking to the entire staff body at a training event.
Alexis received her runner-up certificate and Amazon reward card at the recent Spotlight Awards held at the Merlin Theatre. She is a member of the Ysgol Greenhill Social Action Team, who - along with several other members - represented the school last week at Haverfordwest High VC School, using their voice to inform and inspire others - Llongyfarchiadau!
THEATRE VISIT
On Wednesday, November 30, pupils from Year 10 and staff visited the Donald Gordon theatre at Wales Millennium Centre. The students all enjoyed a performance of the Willy Russell musical Blood Brothers, in preparation for their GCSE study of the play. It was a fantastic performance, enjoyed by all.
MUSIC WORKSHOP
Year 11 GCSE Music pupils recently had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a composition workshop. They had the privilege of working on a composing project alongside Lynne Plowman, who is a member of the Dyfed Young Composers organisation.
It was an amazing day for all involved. An enormous thank you to Lynne Plowman for coming in and working with the school’s students.
PEMBROKESHIRE SUCCESS FOR NETBALL TEAM
Huge congratulations to the Ysgol Greenhill Year 10 Netball team, who played in the Pembrokeshire County Tournament recently.
The girls played fantastically throughout the entire tournament, narrowly losing out in the final against Ysgol Harri Tudor.
Congratulations also go to the Year 9 Netball team, who played Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi in an exciting end-to-end game on Wednesday, November 30.
The girls came away with an impressive 13-10 win. Da iawn merched!
