Young pupils at Ysgol Hafan y Môr in Tenby now have a chance to develop their learning skills in a less structured way thank to the generosity of a local businessman.

Outdoor lessons for three-seven-year-olds are more engaging after Mr. Des Galdo, of Pembrokeshire Property and Maintenance, stepped in to sponsor and erect a shed for them to use.

The pupils call it their ‘outside classroom’ where they can enhance their creative, social and oratory skills in a natural and informal way.

“Mr. Galdo heard about our need and was extremely generous, offering us sponsorship to purchase and assemble a 16x8 shed with fibreglass roof in the Foundation Phase outdoor learning area,” said the school’s head Mrs. Vicky Griffiths.

“We are thrilled with the shed and can’t wait to start using it.

“Without Mr. Galdo’s generosity we wouldn’t have been able to develop this additional learning resource and we can’t thank him enough.”
