NETBALL CHAMPIONS

Staff and students of Ysgol Greenhill would like to say a massive well done to their Year 9 Netball team, who recently won the Pembrokeshire Championship.

The girls played fantastically throughout the whole day, displaying great team work and resilience, and finished the day without a single defeat. Well done, girls!

NATURE WATCH

Recently, Greenhill’s Environment Club took part in the RSPB big schools birdwatch. This was a great citizen science activity and a wonderful way to spend an hour. Mrs King was particularly impressed with Euan Russell’s bird identification skills. Well done to all pupils who took part.

BOXING SUCCESS

A massive ‘congratulations’ goes to Mark White of the Sixth Form, who has recently become the Wales Novice Boxing Champion in the 57kg Featherweight category.

Mark, who representsTenby Sharks Boxing Club, won the semi final by unanimous decision for a place in the final, where he faced a boxer from Pembroke Dock in a local derby. He won this fight by unanimous decision again, including a knock down, proving himself to be a very deserving winner to become Welsh Champion.

Da iawn Mark!

WELSH SELECTION

Congratulations to Carter Heywood of Year 9, on his selection for Wales Football Squad.

Last week he took part in an in-house squad match, as the squad makes preparations for their next competition. Here is a picture of Carter at that training session. Well done Carter, the whole school is very proud of you.

FIRST AID TRAINING

On Thursday, February 2, 46 pupils from Ysgol Greenhill completed a first aid awareness course. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to learn some very important skills for life. The school would like to say a huge thanks to Wayne from St John Ambulance for coming along to train the Duke of Edinburgh group, SWEET year 10 group and Sixth Form prefects.

Ysgol Greenhill looks forward to welcoming them back in a couple of weeks for outdoor first aid training.
