After saying farewell to a stalwart member of the teaching staff before Christmas, St Teilo’s Catholic Primary School in Tenby has welcomed its new headteacher this New Year.
The school has thanked parents, children and the wider school community for the warm welcome given to new head Kevin Phelps this term.
“Although I have only been at St Teilo’s school a very short time, I have already been made to feel very welcome and have recognised the warmth and special gifts of this wonderful school,” said Mr. Phelps.
“I have been very impressed by the friendliness, behaviour and good manners of the children. Also, I can clearly see that the staff are a real credit to the school, they are a committed, hardworking and dedicated team who do their very best for the good of the children.”
Retiring head Angela Nichols was thanked by the school for everything she has done over the past 38 years, as they spent a week celebrating her achievements and career before the school broke up for the festive period.
“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone for my wonderful cards and gifts to mark my retirement,” she said.
“I have been so lucky to have worked with such fantastic children, parents and carers, staff and governors at St Teilo's over the last 38 years. The school really has a family feel and I will miss that.
“I have been so lucky to have worked with such amazing children, staff, governors, parents and carers for over 38 years - 39 years teaching in total!!
“I am sure the school will be in safe hands with Mr Phelps and Mrs Frearson.”
