Leading partnerships developer Lovell has delivered an engaging educational session to students at Pembrokeshire College, which is based near its new Augustus Grange housing development in Haverfordwest.

The development, which is being delivered in association with Pobl Group, will provide a total of 115 two and three-bedroom homes located off St David’s Road, just six miles from the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with 69% of the homes being affordable.

Lovell Community Development Co-ordinator Meriel Gough and Marketing and Business Development Co-ordinator Noorhan Griffiths attended the college and delivered a two-hour session to 35 students who are studying business.

The interactive session was about how Lovell implements responsible business practices and covered topics such as health and safety, sustainability and supporting staff, contractors and the local community. Meriel and Noorhan also discussed the importance of partnerships, with reference to Lovell’s joint work with Pobl at Augustus Grange.

Will Treharne, Lovell Assistant Quantity Surveyor, also delivered a talk on his career journey and gave advice on navigating careers in the construction sector.

The students went home with a newfound knowledge and appreciation of the sector, as well as Lovell branded water bottles, made from recycled plastic found on UK beaches, and branded pens made from bamboo.

Roanna Wootton, Lecturer in Business at Pembrokeshire College, said: “Today's session with the Lovell team was incredibly impactful, providing valuable insights that learners can directly apply to their assignments. It was a great opportunity for learners to bridge the gap between theory and real-world experience.”

Gemma Clissett, regional partnerships director at Lovell, said: “We are thrilled that the students enjoyed the session and learnt valuable lessons about business, construction and partnerships. This sector is incredibly rewarding and there are so many different roles and opportunities available, so it’s wonderful to inspire future colleagues with sessions such as this.”
