After a distinguished career of 40 years, including 20 years in headship, 16 of these years as headteacher at Dyffryn Taf, Mr. Robert Newsome, OBE, has announced that he will retire at the end of the summer term.
The governing body wish to express their gratitude to Mr. Newsome, who, through his leadership, has worked tirelessly and successfully to raise standards in teaching and learning. He has also dedicated his time and energy, to ensure a broad range of extra-curricular opportunities for all students. Both staff and students would echo this view.
The governing body can now announce Mr. Newsome’s successor to build on his achievements.
The new headteacher will be Mr. Julian Kennedy, who is currently deputy headteacher at Birchgrove Comprehensive in Swansea, having previously been assistant headteacher at Olchfa Comprehensive, Swansea.
The school wishes him every success in his new role.
