Sporting friends from in and around Tenby completed their 12 week 6,500 mile challenge on the weekend, raising a wealth of money for two charities in the process.
The group known as ‘The Dreamcatchers’ took on the Three Welsh Peak Challenge from September, incorporating miles of swimming, cycling, running and walking towards the finish line on Saturday, raising over £2,000 towards Wales Air Ambulance Wales and Get the Boys a Lift.
Members (led by Caroline Cumberlin) Lana Brace, Jo Carlile, Anne Rossiter, Ali Rees, Cindy Richards, Tracey Scotcher, Amy Drewett, Philippa Graham, Evie Fowke, and Nina Goldsworthy had previously supported each other through endurance events across the county, before deciding to come together to raise money for local charities that have been affected by the pandemic.
They completed the challenge at Tenby’s North Beach on Saturday to celebrate the achievement and thank everybody who supported their fundraising efforts.
“A big thanks to everybody that has donated and followed us - but from me mostly to my whole team of ‘Dreamcatchers’ who embraced this brainchild of mine, who continued through injury; wind and rain, a two-week lockdown among other challenges and never stopped encouraging one another or clocking up the miles!” said Caroline.
The fundraisers would like to thank Harbourwealth for kickstarting the donations from the offset; Big Brums for sponsoring tops; and Manorbier and Post Office Stores for sponsoring jackets.
