The air ambulance service in South Wales has received a boost of more than £8,000, thanks to the sporting efforts of Dragon LNG employees. DLNG personnel formed a team to compete in the Pembrokeshire Triathlon and chose the Welsh Air Ambulance, a vital local resource, as their target charity.
Dragon LNG backed their efforts, providing equipment and membership to a local rowing club for training. Dragon also doubled the sponsorship money the team raised, allowing over £ 8,000 to be presented to Welsh Air Ambulance.
Team Dragon completed a 24-mile cycle ride, a six-mile row, followed by a six-mile run, achieving their goal of winning the first company team trophy with a very creditable fifth place overall.
Team members travelled to the main Air Ambulance base at Swansea to present cheques to the crews who thanked them for their determination and hard work.
