The new Kilgetty & Begelly Men’s Shed is having its first meeting on Thursday 16th September 7 – 9pm, in the small hall of Kilgetty Community Centre.
The Men’s Shed is being established as part of the community consultation held in the area over the last few years as part of Rural Futures Project. You may remember the My Square Mile events that took place in 2019 and a recent Rural Futures survey. All the results show that men need a space to work together to help the local residents, using skills and experiences they have gained over their lives. The Rural Futures Steering Group is now looking to develop into the future, with potential National Lottery Community funding becoming available to purchase cabins for the Men’s Shed & a Craft Cabin plus a growing area, paths, seating, outdoor gym and much more.
At the inaugural Men’s Shed meeting on September 16, we will share ideas for the new Shed, hear from members of well-established Sheds and find about the skills and experiences of those who attend this meeting. Luke Conlon from Men2Men Home | Mysite (men2men.org.uk), will on hand to share his experiences of setting up several Men’s Sheds.
By the end of the evening, we hope to have made plans for the first project!
If you can attend, please contact Jo Brookman-Lloyd on 07595 192933 or email [email protected] If you can’t attend but are interested in joining, please register your interest and we will keep you informed.
We are asking that people do book a place as covid restrictions are still in place at the hall. If it is a nice evening, we hope to go outdoors as well.
Kilgetty & Begelly Men’s Shed looks forward to meeting you. Please check out the Facebook page (12) Kilgetty & Begelly Men’s Shed | Facebook or contact the e-mail address above for further information.
