THERE were diamond celebrations recently for former Tenby residents, Eric and Betty Hall.
The couple, who now live in Taunton, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 3.
Eric and Betty (née John) met when Eric came to Tenby with the Manchester Regiment at the beginning of the war in 1940.
They were married at the town's St. Mary's Church on January 3, 1942, and lived initially with Betty's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. John.
In 1943, Eric went to Italy and Greece with the artillery and when he returned to Tenby at the end of the war in 1946, he was employed in the Civil Service at Manorbier Camp until 1966, when he was posted to Canterbury.
A moved to Taunton followed in 1968 when Eric took a job at Jellalabad Barracks and the couple bought a house in Sherford Road, where they still reside.
